SUNDAY MESSAGE

"WE SHALL BE SATISFIED"

Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple. (Psa 65:4 NKJV)

[Sing to the Lord, lift up your voices]

OPENING PRAYER

Almighty GOD, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit we welcome thee into our midst in congregation, worship and fellowship on this Holy day. Grant us the compelling vision of our journey and deep appreciation for our continual guidance from on high. Open our ears, hearts and souls to receive Your Word from on high, through Jesus the Christ, AMEN

MESSAGE

One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple. (Psa 27:4 NKJV)

The verse from Psalm 27 highlights the passion that has welled up in the heart and soul of David as he pondered and shared, with a thankful heart, his God given visions of eventually being received in the Lord's Holy Kingdom. We know that the Kingdom referred to is the NEW JERUSALEM, and all who have received God's wondrous Grace...His Gift...shall be SATISFIED...FOREVER.

Although King David delivered His tender and powerful thanksgiving to the Lord nearly One Thousand Years BEFORE the birth of Jesus, prayers of thanksgiving are never to early to be heard in God's ears! In Psalm 107 we read: Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness. (Psa 107:8-9 NKJV) In a nutshell, the last sentence reveals the spiritual goal of every Sojourner; TOTAL SATISFACTION ETERNALLY IN the KINGDOM TO COME! Our FOREVER HOME!

We all are born into a journey, a quest, a passion, with a very strong compulsion to reach the finish line. Thus we are Sojourners, from birth to last breath. You might say that we are just passing through, and that we are strangers here. As we travel past others, we leave behind evidence of the Gospel Truth; scattered all along our route. When our journey is ended, then and only then will we be be Fully SATISFIED in our eternal home.

We long to GO HOME. Or, it could be said, we long to GO BACK HOME, return to that place whence we originated. Consider the following Psalm; Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book [the Book of Life] they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. (Psa 139:16 NKJV) The message is this; Our God has known you PERSONALLY and INTIMATELY from before your conception and subsequent development in your mother's womb. He knows the end from the beginning and the beginning to the end! Awesome, huh?

From the very moment that Holy Spirit opened my eyes and my soul to God's invitation, I began to learn the TRUTH. That TRUTH is God's Word and it lives and breathes forever in Holy Scripture. The TRUTH is trustworthy because TRUTH cannot mutate into UNTRUTH. Just as the Lord cannot mutate, He remains as He IS...always WAS...and always WILL BE, so shall TRUTH likewise be.

For all of us, everything here on this earth, including the earth itself, is temporary by God's design. We have celestial expiration dates engraved on us somewhere and when we reach that date...our time on earth is done. The most often question any preacher attends to boils down to one simple inquiry;

"WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO TO SERVE THE LORD?"

God gave us the beautiful and brief instructions and placed them into our tiny bodies before we were born. They included things like talents, personal characteristics, temperament, and the spiritual desire to DO THE RIGHT THING!

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. (Mat 5:6 NKJV) This is only one of many TRUTHS and promises made and ordained by the Lord to benefit His creation!

The Lord's desire is simply for us to realize, then organize those skills and talents that God gave us before we were born, and use them to make a difference in the life of another and not expect anything in return for the favor. Give GOD the glory!

He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. (Luk 1:53 NKJV)

And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (Joh 6:35 NKJV)

SUMMARY

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see [life].

(Psa 36:7-9 NKJV)

The Apostle Paul talks and teaches us that the "Race" as it has been termed is not a race one against the other. There is a beginning, YES, but there is no requirement to have speed or agility having only the determination to follow the path established by Jesus Christ and reach the FINISH LINE.

We all are born into this journey; a quest, a passion, with a very strong compulsion to reach the finish line. Thus we are Sojourners, from first to last breath. You might say that we are just passing through, and that we are strangers here. As we travel passing others, we necessarily leave behind evidence of the Gospel Truth; scattered all along our route. When our journey is ended, then and only then will we be be Fully SATISFIED and at ease in our eternal home, in the presence of HE who made us! You might even say that we are returning to where it all began...HOME.

CLOSING PRAYER

O' Lord God, how great Thou Art. As we journey forward we carry in our hearts a spiritual beacon that calls to us, causing us to somehow know, deep inside, that we are returning home. The place where our souls originated, in Your heart, Lord Jesus. Thank You Lord for being that LIGHT, that WORD that guides us on this journey... In JESUS, AMEN

Please come into me, clean me, take me and make me Yours and let me serve from this day forward and forever, Thank-You Jesus, AMEN

If you sincerely prayed with me, your salvation has been assured. {Rom 10:9 KJV} -That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
