Hello Beloved, The Peace of Jesus be with you now and forever, Amen
Last week we traveled back in time to 1935 and a powerful sermon from Billy Sunday. Since it was a full sermon message, it took some effort to to absorb it in it's entirety, but was well worth the investment of your time and attention! The Gospel is the pure truth and evidence of the Lord's unending love for His creation, it is the same now as it was when Jesus came up from the water of His baptism. One thousand nine hundred and thirty five years later, Billy Sunday preached the powerful truths of our Savior and His Gospel.
This week, a bit over one hundred years ago, a June 14th devotion from the pen and heart of Oswald Chambers "A Matter of Determination" , Anchored to John 15:4, "abide in Me", was committed to paper! Let our voices be heard now as we go to prayer;
OPENING PRAYER: Almighty Creator again we are humbled to have the opportunity to look back in history and realize the Word is unchanged through Your Servant Pastor Oswald Chambers. We know that You and Your Word never changes, has always been and will always be. It is so comforting that our Lord, our God is truly immutable forever! Open our hearts, eyes and souls as we receive the "WORD". In the precious name above all names, Jesus the Christ, Amen.

Get a Move On
John 15:4 "abide in me"
Pastor Oswald begins:
The Spirit of Jesus is put into me by the Atonement, then I have to construct with patience the way of thinking that is exactly in accordance with my Lord. God will not make me think like Jesus, I have to do it myself; I have to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. "Abide in Me" {John 15:4} -in intellectual matters, in money matters, in every one of the matters that make human life what it is. It is not a bandbox life.
Am I preventing God from doing things in my circumstances because I say it will hinder my communion with Him? That is an impertinence. It does not matter what my circumstances are, I can be as sure of abiding in Jesus in them as in a prayer meeting. I have not to change and arrange my circumstances myself. With our Lord the inner abiding was unsullied; He was at home with God wherever His body was placed. He never chose His own circumstances , but was meek towards His Father's dispensations for Him. Think of the amazing leisure of Our Lord's life! We keep God at excitement point, there is none of the serenity of the life hid with Christ in God about us.
Think of the things that take you out of abiding in Christ. --Yes Lord, just a minute, I have got this to do; Yes, I will abide when once this is finished; when this week is over, it will be alright, I will abide then. GET A MOVE ON; begin to abide now. In the initial stages it is a continual effort until it becomes so much the law of life that you abide in Him unconsciously. Determine to abide in Jesus wherever you are placed.

CLOSING COMMENT AND PRAYER During our early travel days in a converted bus, our three kitties always seemed a bit confused, but safe and loved at the same time. When we would stop for the night, or arrive at the new location, the cats would gather together at the windows. We could watch the mystery unfolding in them as their heads would tilt a bit one way or the other. They observed that although the outside scene was quite different from this morning, the INSIDE of the coach was exactly the same!
Outside appeared hostile and foreign, but inside they were still home, safe, secure, and loved. Christians live in CHRIST. CHRIST lives in us. Although our outside circumstances change, we remain right at home in HIM, safe, secure and loved! Our thanks to pastor Chambers for the Lord's perfect message, the perfect "WORD".
Let us Pray: What a remarkable privilege it is to be a creation of the hands of the Great Shepherd of the Sheep. As such, to be blessed and benefit from His eternal being, character, unending love and almighty power through salvation. All of this through His grace, His gift, His promise possible only through the "WORD", His blood, and His name, JESUS the CHRIST OUR LORD, AMEN

THE CALL
If you have never invited Jesus to be your Lord and savior, or, if you have in the past yet remain unsure of your salvation, conversion, and forgiveness of sin, Please pray with me now: Lord Jesus I need to fill a hole in my life that follows me where ever I go. I am a long-time Sinner and I now CONFESS and REPENT of all my sins in Your Holy Name. I believe that You JESUS are the Lord, that you were hung on a cross and died. I believe that you were raised back to life then ascended into heaven and are presently seated at the right hand of The Father. Please come into me, Lord Jesus, clean me, take me and make me, reach me, teach me how to be Yours and let me serve from this day forward and forever, I receive You right now! Thank-You Jesus, AMEN
If you sincerely prayed with me, your salvation has been assured. {Rom 10:9 KJV} -That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
