SUNDAY MESSAGE
"REVIVAL"
And now for a little while grace has been shown from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival in our bondage.
Ezr 9:8 NKJV

Grant us with open and attentive ears, a receptive and grateful heart and willing soul to receive Your message on this Holy Day, in Jesus the Christ, AMEN
MESSAGE
REVIVAL: Seven little letters that can release incredible life and death powers and by itself the word commands attention when ever uttered. Over the past few years my ears have detected hundreds of souls who are looking, waiting, and praying for a REVIVAL!
REVIVAL, to be REVIVED, says Webster's Dictionary: an act or instance of reviving; the state of being revived, such as: renewed attention of interest in something; a new declaration or publication of something old; a period of renewed religious interest; --an often highly emotional evangelistic meeting/ gathering or a series of gatherings. Lastly, according to Webster; restoration of force, validity or effect, or as to a contract, covenant, or a TESTAMENT.
I have a direct kinship with this word -REVIVAL- after I was electrocuted, falling to the ground and was discovered without pulse or respiration for a bit over three minutes. I learned later that If a human remains in this pulse-less state, with out direct intervention for more than six minutes, recovery without brain damage is slim. Many do not survive. God kick started my heart, and my first big loud breath nearly scared the daylights out of my co-workers. I was REVIVED, RENEWED, RESCUED!
Monday, January 2nd, 2023; Monday night football, Bengals at Buffalo. A young and vibrant player, for Buffalo named Damar Hamlin was hit hard in the chest while being tackled. Damar got up from the ground, stood upright then collapsed in full cardiac arrest! After about 3 minutes, the whole stadium got very, very quiet. No hot dogs being sold, no beer replenished, every eyeball was focused in Buffalo and around the world on LIVE COLOR TV. Even the play-by-play guys were silent. You could feel the power of prayer in the air!
Nearly an hour went by then all of a sudden, a single arm shot upwards displaying a THUMBS-UP! The stadium and the globe began to breathe again. For this short period of time, millions of people stopped what they were doing, and concentrated on God's Miracle; FULLY DISPLAYED for every eye to see. Damar Hamlin survived. He has been on the field with Buffalo every since. Prayer works. The hands of God appeared to all to see that cold January night, and millions were witness to the REVIVAL of Damar Hamlin.
Lets examine a couple of Biblical Revival events and I ask you to please try and notice the similarities between all of them, including the REVIVALs that I just spoke of.
[Act 2:1-5 NKJV]- When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (2) And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. (3) Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. (4) And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (5) And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. The bigger portion of the speaking in tongues gift was... that there were those who were just listening to one of them speak --in one language --but the people listening were hearing that same speech in their own mother tongue...AT THE SAME TIME!!
The day of Pentecost was a REVIVAL GATHERING of SUPREME order. Just ask Peter. This was the day his personal REVIVAL arrived. The arrival did not disappoint!: The man Peter, whose background-- a modern day Popeye The Sailor demeanor, --would be filled to the brim with the Holy Spirit guiding every word out of his mouth as he delivered one of the most eloquent and God breathed sermons ever presented. Peter knew that each word was forming in his mouth just as he spoke, signaling that his REVIVAL by his SAVIOR was complete! Thus Peter opened the formal doors of the Church of GOD, Jesus the Christ. Three THOUSAND were saved that day!
Jonah thought he could outrun God and get out of a mission the lord ordered.
Jon 2:1-10 NKJV Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the fish's belly. (2) And he said: "I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me. "Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice... (7) "When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple. (8) "Those who regard worthless idols Forsake their own Mercy. (9) But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD." (10) So the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
After cleaning off all of the vomit, now mixed with pounds of sand from the beach, Jonah paid close attention as he waited for the voice of God to speak.
Jon 3:1-10 NKJV Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, (2) "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you." (3) So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent. (4) And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk. Then he cried out and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!"
(5) So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. (6) Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. (7) And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. (8) But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. (9) Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?
(10) Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
Jon 4:1-11 NKJV But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. (2) So he prayed to the LORD, and said, "Ah, LORD, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. (3) Therefore now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!" (4) Then the LORD said, "Is it right for you to be angry?"
(5) So Jonah went out of the city and sat on the east side of the city. There he made himself a shelter and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city. (6) And the LORD God prepared a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his misery. So Jonah was very grateful for the plant. (7) But as morning dawned the next day God prepared a worm, and it so damaged the plant that it withered. (8) And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah's head, so that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and said, "It is better for me to die than to live."
(9) Then God said to Jonah, "Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?" And he said, "It is right for me to be angry, even to death!" (10) But the LORD said, "You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night. (11) And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left—and much livestock? Nineveh received it's REVIVAL. Sadly, it did not last long. Just as, in the past, the sheep strayed into troubling and sinful territory once again...and Nineveh was never spared again!
SUMMARY
After coming home from church last Sunday, my Linda and I watched the full six hours of the Funeral/Memorial for Charlie Kirk. An estimated 101 Thousand souls were physically present, some in the Big Arena, or the smaller venue nearby, along with those who watched on big screens outside.
My Linda and I were counted among the {100 million} viewers watching live as it was streamed to the world, sharing this GLOBAL CALL TO REVIVAL with so many countries around the world, all watching at the same time!
You remember earlier that I had asked you to pick out certain elements that were also present in all of the REVIVALS examined here on this Holy Day?
1. Except through prayer and obedience, man is not involved in the selection nor the conduct in initiating a REVIVAL. Regardless of how man's sinful condition might be! It is God's Holy Spirit that calls us to REVIVAL. It is God's decision.
2. The Lord's fingerprints are all over any real REVIVAL.
3. The Lord selects and assigns, through the Holy Spirit, the manner and the subjects of the REVIVAL. In doing so, God makes the seemingly impossible-- possible! He makes it work! Right before our eyes! That was very apparent last Sunday.
4. The Call by God for REVIVAL is sent to all mankind. Only the believers hear and answer this call. The non believers are deaf and blind, and most of them will sadly perish at the end of their days. We should Pray for them!
5. The energy of a true REVIVAL is pure, clean, electric, encouraging, loving, and speaks to the absolute Gospel TRUTH of His Salvation.
As we close, I pray that the Lord will convict you mightily to seek out and embrace this event and be witness --what it was --that my Linda and I saw, felt, and used up a half a box of Kleenex in the process, shedding tears of JOY! My friends, Brothers and Sisters, this is the REVIVAL period that we have long waited for. Let us not waste it! Let us EMBRACE it!
CLOSING PRAYER
Almighty God, Gird us to live these words of Holy Scripture:
Mat 28:18-20 KJV And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
DOXOLOGY
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;

THE CALL
If you have never invited Jesus to be your Lord and savior, or, if you have in the past yet remain unsure of salvation and forgiveness of sin, Please pray with me now: Lord Jesus I need to fill a hole in my life that follows me where ever I go. I am a long-time Sinner and I CONFESS and REPENT of all my sins. I believe that You JESUS are the Lord, that you were hung on a cross and died. I believe that you were raised back to life by God, Your Father, ascended into heaven and presently sit at the right hand of The Almighty. Please come into me, clean me, take me and make me Yours and let me serve from this day forward and forever, Thank-You Jesus, AMEN
If you sincerely prayed with me, your salvation has been assured. {Rom 10:9 KJV} -That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
